Anaesthetic Fees.

Public patients receive no account. The hospital pays the Anaesthetist directly for their services to public hospital patients.

It you are a private patient an account will be sent to your address either before your operation or some time after the operation.

A part of the fee may be claimed back from Medicare and your private health fund, the remainder of the fee is called a “gap”. This is the amount that you have to pay out of your own pocket.

Please raise any concerns about fees with your Anaesthetist.
